TinyML4D: TinyML for Developing Countries

Hi folks,

Looks like we are getting to a core team of 7 to 10 people around TinyML4D.

I suggest we kick off a working group meeting, open to all like minded folks. Once we gather some momentum things will naturally spin up. Can folks please reply with their timezones here?

Hello Professor Vijay, So about getting TinyMl to developing countries, yes here in Kenya students have a passion for it. We hold meetups, hands-on demos, and hackathons in a bid to democratize Tinyml education with the learning materials from the internet including your course. And this is so far working. Maybe others could try this with their countries/communities. The challenge is having access to hardware to actually build these solutions after learning some of the concepts. If we can crack the hardware challenge then impactful solutions can come out of developing countries with the right amount of exposure. I co-lead Tinyml Kenya and I believe if we can get more people to learn about TinyML it could be of great impact in developing countries.

Thank you for your email. Could you please drop me a note at vj@eecs.Harvard.edu so we can pickup there? Would be happy to help.

Yes sure! Just sent you an email.
