Sensor noise & model error

I am looking for scientific literature that shows the impact of noise from a sensor on the model error (regression problem). I am thinking about model degradation in case of high noise, and how to tackle this, combined design using DSP techniques and machine learning, …

The type of sensors that I currently target are IMU sensors.

I haven’t done any work on this area but/and I did find this paper that is somewhat related (http://ceur-ws.org/Vol-3097/paper12.pdf) maybe it can help? Or maybe try contacting one of those authors?
