TinyML Hardware Kit

Pre-booked on Dec 31, 2020. DHL shipped (to India) it on Jan 11, but no updates after 13th. Last location is Avenel, NJ, US.

I was expecting in 2 weeks, but I think I should check with the Arduino store/ DHL now

Hi @Anavij,

Same in my case. Booked on 31 Jan, processed on 1 Feb and on 4 Feb at Avenel, NJ, US.

I think people from outside US should order the kit right when they begin course-2 so that hopefully, the kit will arrive in time for course-3.

Though Arduino said delivery between 5 and 15 Feb, even at the time of order I was sincerely expecting the kit to arrive anytime before the first ween of March 2021.

Please exercise caution while ordering the kit from Arduino.cc. Just don’t choose the cheapest shipping option.

Just realized, I made a mistake. Check About DHL Global Mail Packet Plus Priority International – Arduino Help Center

Wish, they had mentioned details on the shipping options selection page itself.

Now I am not sure to get the kit for Course-3 in time. Planning alternate with Uno + Camera module + required sensors.

Hi @moulipc, first off, sorry about all these headaches and thank you for sharing this information with people at large. Great use of this resource. International shipping is indeed a headache. Arduino folks are working hard on getting local distributors in India to make the kits available locally, but this is still work under progress. I strongly suggest waiting till you get the kit before you start the course.

If you get the Uno+Camera etc. the code is not going to be directly portable. It isn’t as straightforward to use the Uno; we have severe memory constraints and some of the models will need the extra SRAM and Flash memory that the Nano 33 BLE sense offers.

Thank you @vjreddi,

The Nano BLE Sense makes sense and I am more excited about it than the ML on this Tiny controller.

I will sure, wait for the kit to arrive.

Contacted DHL eCommerce.

Received an email confirming that the shipment is enroute to India.

@moulipc, Same with me. Package has reached Delhi, and will be delivered via India post.

Hoping to get it soon.

Good to know. Did you get any india post tracking number?

Yes, I am able to track using the “Local Tracking Number” provided by DHL

Good.

My shipment is still showing processed at Avenel, NJ. I should wait another month I guess.

In the future, for folks in India, you should order your kit from here:

It says the kit is out of stock, but they are working on getting the inventory setup. So please check back soon. That should really help expedite the shipping process. We are working on the same with other places as well.

If your region doesn’t get quick shipping, let us know and that can get commented to Arduino!

Robocraze still shows out of stock.

One more word of caution particularly to those from India, while ordering the kit from Arduino: India post is collecting customs duty at the time of delivery, which is almost 50 per cent of the invoice value.

A better option at this time is to buy the Nano 33 BLE Sense (with headers) and the camera module from a local vendor. A 400 point breadboard or a Nano Shield and a USB cable are all available online.

I have Microcontroller already but I just need camera module and shield … is there any way to buy these separately in US?

HI @selvakumarvr,

Check this ebay link for the OVR7675 Camera Module.

Different types of shields are available on amazon for Arduino Nano 33 BLE. Instead, you may use a breadboard and few jumper wires instead.

Thanks. I will check it out…

+1 @moulipc :+1:

@selvakumarvr Please just make sure you get the OV7675 camera module, if you can. Supporting other modules is a bit out of our league, though @brian_plancher I believe we do have some written material for other camera modules, right? Specifically, for using the OV7670?

Yeah we have tested the 7670 and found that to be compatible as well (and we’ve tried to document the changes).

For those interested, here is a document the course staff have put together that describes the process of assembling the TinyML kit, as well as details for assembly if you source off-the-shelf components — namely a helpful wiring diagram for the camera.

While we recommend the kit, if you’re looking to source components elsewhere, we provide some note on this here.

Best of luck! Hopefully this is helpful

@selvakumarvr perhaps this helps?

I’ll also do a quick video walkthrough of the steps at the start of Course 3! (In general we’ll have a bunch of these kinds of documents for the hands on parts of the course that provide step by step instructions and will have a short video attached where I walk you through it!)
